Lynn Davison, a graduate of the Ringling School of Art and Design, has been creating and exhibiting haunting figurative imagery for thirty years and has earned a reputation as one of the best known as most highly regarded artists in the Southeast. Retaining her distinctive, unique creativity, she has taken real risks in the last few years and her work has has become more painterly and grown in strength.

Davison's work has been featured in many public venues, the most important of which include the Butler Institute of American Art, the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the Ringling Museum of Art. She has had one person shows at the gallery at Miami-Dade Community College, the Gulf Coast Art Museum, the University of Tampa's Scarfone Gallery and Edison Community College in Fort Myers. She is consistently included in all-Florida shows.

Public collections which include Davison's paintings are those of Ohio University, Miami-Dade Community College, the Van Wezel Performing Art Center, Edison Community College, and the Polk and Ringling Museums.

"Davison proves to have a way with flesh that is not as gory as Lucien Freud's but nearly as tactile."

Helen Cohen
The Miami Herald (9/30/94)

"Realism is not the aim here. Expressiveness is."
